		<description>hi Shishir - one reason i always thought that CDS of benchmark countries like US, UK and Switzerland was a better SALE than purchase is because if you ever get the black swan event you&#039;re hoping for as a buyer of the CDS, you run into an AIG scenario where whomever you bought the protection (CDS) from is totally hosed and will not be able to make good on the insurance.  if you&#039;re the one who sold the protection, and the country defaults, you&#039;re screwed anyway and the currency is probably worthless! </description>

I got the spread data from Bloomberg. I might be remembering incorrectly, but I think you can get it from the WCDS &lt;GO&gt; screen. 

You can also find the S&amp;P ratings from Bloomberg.</description>
