Simple and straight – Young & Invested is THE hub for finance and investing insights from the new generation.
The younger generation (ie. people who usually cannot put the phrase “With 30 years of industry experience” behind their name) has been the source of many important insights and new ideas. Take a look at Facebook, take a look at Twitter, take a look at Microsoft. What’s in common? All the 3 trend-creating organizations (and many more) were started by people who didn’t have the credibility or experience behind their names when they started off, but who went on to make huge things happen with their passion. There are thousands of young people out there in their 20s and 30s who are just as passionate about investing and finance as any industry-leading and “experienced” hedge-fund manager. What’s more is that the opinions brought forth by this new generation often go against the grain or the established market norms – and we believe that is what makes them unique and valuable.
Young & Invested works to bring those ideas to the forefront of mainstream discussion and provide them with the attention that any new insight deserves.
Oh and we have nothing against the “older” guys. Promise!

Shishir Nigam (Chief Editor)
Shishir Nigam is a contributor for Young and Invested. He is also the Founder of ActiveETFs | InFocus, a website devoted to the coverage of actively-managed ETFs: http://etfshub.com
Shishir is an investing and finance geek. He loves to read widely about finance as well as many other interesting fields such as philanthropy, social entrepreneurship, quantum physics, marketing and philosophy while enjoying some fiction at the same time. To understand the numerous perspectives and viewpoints with regards to any one issue is what interests him and while achieving complete knowledge about an area is quite impossible, it is what he aims towards. He also loves to travel because he believes travel brings people out of the boxes they live in and shows them how much more there is to know in the world. And ultimately, he lives by the theory that “there is no man alive, who cannot do more than what he thinks he can do”.
Alex Ikonn (Co-Founder)
Alex Ikonn is the Co-founder of Young and Invested. Is a candidate for Bachelor of Administrative Studies (BAS) with Honours in Marketing. He has also completed the Canadian Securities Course (NASD Series 7 Equivalent). Has previous account management experience at one of top 4 Canadian financial institutions. Alex’s core strength lies in his abilities to motivate and instill confidence in people. He will be the leading contributor to the Motivation & Leadership section of Y&I.
On top of Alex’s strong interest in the financial markets, he has taken a strong interest in the social media community. He currently writes an insightful Digital Marketing blog, and is currently self-employed as a consultant in his area of expertise, Ikonn Media .
Daniel Eskin (Co-Founder)
Daniel Eskin is the Co-founder of Young and Invested. He has completed his BBA degree at University of Toronto, specializing in management and accounting. He is currently working with one of the Big 4 accounting firms in the audit capacity.
Daniel has been interested in the financial markets ever since he had funding in his bank account. As an avid reader, he has been particularly interested in general business, personal success and security analysis books, reading about one every two or three weeks. He strongly believes that with so much exposure to the experience of those who have already become super-successful, it should be relatively easy compared to those pioneers.
